India Tour Day 1

Day 1 in Mumbai and India and the tour has already provided many highlights.

My personal favourite thing of Day 1 is always the bus ride when most of the first timers to Mumbai and India sit in silence as they take in the enormity of what is India.

Shanty type houses, the constant honking of horns and just the sheer size of people and the logistics associated with their day to day lives.

We checked into the hotel and then quickly were en route to the Islam Gymkhana where the boys and coaches settled in for a quick hit and familiarisation with Indian conditions.

Back to the Hotel and into the pool for a swim and dinner at a local restaurant.

We have been joined by a small group of young lads from the UK who are also enjoying their first trip to India.

Cricket has a unique way of bringing kids together regardless of background or nationality and it was great to see all the young tourists sharing their experiences and knowledge in some cases with each other in the nets and over dinner.

Day 2 beckons with a full days training - a morning and afternoon training session split by buffet Indian lunch.

I’ll encourage everyone on the trip to share photos and we will have some video tour diaries etc added so all of you at home get a small taste of the wonderful experience your loved ones are immersing themselves in.

The first of many highlights and experiences are below.

Cheers,

Shannon
